Abstract

Since there will always be doubt about the accuracy of a particular occlusion born of computerized digital technology, and since biologic truisms are not readily established clinically because they may be hidden in a maze of environmental stimuli, the classic diagnostic provisional restoration-meticulously fabricated - becomes the ideal harbinger restoration. Aesthetics, phonetics, and occlusal function can be ascertained and experienced by the patient, who can then proprioceptively tell quite readily if the diagnostic phase is rendered harmonious with mandibular kinematics and therefore acceptable and comfortable.
